In the Brahmajāla Sutta, the Buddha taught: “Every single living being is our brother, our relative, our parents, our children from many lives up to now. If you open your eyes to the infinite truth of space, time, and the universe, face your relatives at the time of being arrested, locked up, killed, or eaten, you still won't make the most of your efforts. mind that timidly hesitates; do not rush to rescue them, it is not as good as the animals".
During the ceremony of releasing living beings, the entire ashram concentrated their minds on the wish and recites the Three Jewels Refuge for all sentient beings, bestowing the Dharma name "Wonderful Sound" - the miraculous sound of the holy name "Namo Amitabha Buddha".
Before being sent back to the free world, everyone is blessed by the entire ashram, reciting the verse of Liberation with the intention of saving them, and freeing the little creatures from suffering after they die escape life. This also means that the Buddhists and fellow initiates are releasing their own suffering because of the karma they have created.
Freeing living beings is also a practice to cultivate the compassion of the Buddha's children. Every life returned to nature is a Buddhist sowing a good cause, dedicating this merit to the entire Dharma Realm, wishing all sentient beings to attain Buddhahood.
Looking at hundreds of birds, fish, frogs, eels, etc. to continue their small free life, on the face of each Buddhist is boundless joy and satisfaction in the heart for having contributed a little bit of pure talent in saving lives for sentient beings.
